Organic processing & trade

The new Circular 2025 once again summarizes important technical updates for organic processing and trade. The focus this year is, among other things, on the rules for the use of non-organic ingredients, which remain strictly limited, as well as current labeling requirements — for example for organic herbal salt. The document also provides information about innovations in the area of imports from third countries, mandatory release agents in organic bakeries and the new regulations for the production of completely dealcoholized organic wine.

The overview of the control areas has also been expanded: Since January 2025, LACON has also been offering “gluten-free certification” in cooperation with ARGE Celiac Disease.
