LACON is an independent, accredited certification body for agriculture, processing and trade.
With 65 employees across Austria, we support companies on their way to their certification — whether BIO, IFS, GLOBALG.A.P., AMA seal of approval or many other standards. In doing so, we not only check in accordance with legal requirements, but also create trust — between producers, retailers and consumers. Our focus is always on the quality of your business! Many services can be easily combined in joint controls.

The LACON Institute was founded to meet the increasing demand for independent, reliable and transparent certifications in the agriculture and food industry.
1992
Establishment of the control body E und S Kontrolle durch Ing. Erwin Huber – der Grundstein für die heutige LACON GmbH mit Fokus auf biologische Lebensmittel.
1997
Accreditation in accordance with EN 45011 and renaming to LACON — Agricultural Controls. The team grows to two employees.
2003
Opening of the Arnreit site, further team expansion and start of GLOBALG.A.P certification.
2006
Moving to Rohrbach. Start of certification for protected indications of origin (PDO & PDO).
2009
Start of controls in the area of “Without genetic engineering” — a new focus for greater transparency.
2023
Generational change in management: Ing. Severin Fuchs-Schickmaier takes over the management of the LACON Institute.
